I was definitely surprised by the value.
He's a rare guy.
APPRAISER: Conservatively, at auction, I would say for the brown and red Superman it's easily a $3,000 to $5,000 figure.
GUEST: Three- okay.
Mom and dad are going to be really happy.
That's awesome.
APPRAISER: Yeah.
GUEST: I have to tell the uncles too.
GUEST: The wonderful Travis gave me the appraisal.
Travis told me that the last one of these on auction went for $6,000 and that one wasn't even in good of condition as this guy is.
That was really quite surprising.
My great-grandfather ran a boarding house, and when he passed away in the 1990s, my father and his siblings went through the piles of stuff that had accumulated through the years.
My dad and his siblings found three Superman.
Uh my dad got this one.
I'm not sure who has the other two.
I'm going to give it uh to my mom and dad and I really hope he doesn't go back in a shoe box for 20 plus years.
Or maybe he does because that might be where he's safest.
I don't know.
My mom and I were supposed to come here together, but um she was not able to attend today, so I'm really happy to share this news with her.
She might cry cause she was supposed to be here too with me.
