Sunshine Children's Home pioneered modern, integrated care for children with disabilities.
Children born with developmental disabilities had no advocates in the first half of the 20th century. Parents were encouraged to institutionalize such children, and society forgot about them. That all changed in 1950 when Roy and Georgette Engler founded Sunshine Children’s Home. Sunshine created a loving and nurturing environment that pioneered modern, integrated care.
