His name is synonymous with Word Perfect --a company he and a partner founded in 1979. Alan Ashton studied computer science and music at the University of Utah in the early 70's and later married Karen Jackman--who loves words and books and storytelling. After building their family, they wanted to give back to the community. They did this with Thanksgiving Point.
