The US has one of the highest maternal mortality rates of any wealthy nation

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show Black women are three times more likely to face maternal morbidities than their white counterparts. To mark this year’s Black Maternal Health week, Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday hosted a roundtable with cabinet officials to address the disparities.
